Timelines
For complex processes running over a longer time period or synced to an external timecode source the Timeline is the perfect tool.
Adding a Timeline
To add a Timeline to your project go to the Project menu and select "Add Timeline". For every Timeline added to the Project UNIVERSE creates a new tab in the Logic Panel.
Populating the Timeline
To place a Button on the Timeline press and hold the right- mose button on the Button and drag it onto the timeline. If you have amny Buttons to place on the timeline you can add new tracks to separate the Buttons or group them visually.
Cues
At the top of the Timeline tab there is a list of Cue elements that can be added to the timeline. By clicking a Cue element it will be added at the current position of the playhead. When created some Cue elements like the "Jump" Cue also have Properties that can be configured.
Properties
Go to the new tab and click the Timeline to open the Properties of the Timeline in the Properties Panel.
Position & Duration
There are Properties for the current position of the playhead and the total duration of the Timeline.
Timecode Source
The Timecode source has two mode of operation:
- Intern: The Timelines runs independendly in UNIVERSE
- Extern: The Timeline can be synced to Timecode provided by Devices in the Project like MTC from a MIDI Connector or LTC from a LTC Device. There are also other Devices like Media Servers and dedicated Timecode Devices that the Timeline can be synced to.

Timecode Node
Like some Devices Timelines can be placed on a Stage by drag and dropping the arrow up icon in the top-right corner of the Variable tab to the Stage.
Inputs
There are two inputs for the Timeline Node on the Stage:

Command | This input accepts connections from other Controls using the UNIVERSE Device and supports Commands like play, pause, stop, etc. |
Timecode | This input accepts data in timecode format with a framebase of 100fps. |
Deleting a Timeline
To delete a Timeline go to the tab of the Timeline you want to delete and press the bin icon in the bottom.right of the tab.
