Show Modes

Once your project is ready you can switch to Show Mode to operate our project. Depending on the situation your project will be used in there are different modes to be selected. To chenage the Show Mode of your project go to Project > Project Settings in the top menu. Under Show Mode you now have the following options:

Standard

Standard Show Mode is the option that is selected by default in a new project. It renders the Stages in a windows with with a titlebar and a footer. The area for both is marked on the Stages in Edit Mode. Standard Show Mode is perfect for operators that might need to switch to Edit Mode on the fly.

Kiosk

Kiosk Mode hides the title bar and the footer and displays Stages fullscreen. For Kiosk Mode there is the option to define a password. This password is then required in order to exit Show Mode. This setting is usefull if you interface is exposed to visitors or untrained personell that shouldn't make changes to the project.

Overlay

Overlay Show Mode is made to use UNIVERSE in addition to other software. In this mode the size of the Stage is reduced to a minimum and the UNIVERSE window is always displayed on top of other windows. See vMix Lower Third Overlay Demo.

Background

In case you are only working with triggers, incoming data from Device Nodes or the Web Interface and you don't need to interact with the project through the native interface, you can use the Background Show Mode. This hides UNIVERSE in a tray icon without displaying an interface in a separate window.
